Just remembered that I am allowed to be upset with people and expect something from them at the same time.
Like… upset with them, but expect them to still keep their promises. Or upset with them and expect them to still treat me like a human being or show compassion.
Or upset with them and still expect them to make it up to me.
My disappointment with someone should not be a get off the hook free card, and for some reason it has been for most of my life. I get so disappointed with people that I just completely shut down and write them off as inutile / that whatever I expected from them could be done better by my self.
It’s not good for either side.
This circles back to boundaries and holding others and myself accountable.
